Airline companies are already allowing mobile boarding passes to be saved to the developer build of Passbook for iPhone. According to Australian Business Traveler, A user was able to check in and save a boarding pass for a flight via the Virgin Australia mobile site.

Passbook was announced in June as a part of the upcoming iOS 6 software for Apple device. It features location-enabled technology, so it knows what to show you based on where you are, such as picking up plane tickets at the airport or movie tickets at the theater. For airlines, Passbook also provides real-time updates such as flight delays and gate changes.
